Anne Haverkamp is a Ninth Grade Success Coach with the Center for High School Success, partnering with school teams throughout Southwest and South Puget Sound Washington. A Portland native, Anne attended Lincoln High School before earning her undergraduate degree from Willamette University and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Lewis & Clark College. She also holds a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University.
After a 30-year career in the Centennial School District, Anne retired from public education having served as both a Language Arts teacher and instructional coach. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to supporting student achievement, developing educator capacity, and fostering collaborative school cultures.
Anne’s passion for helping ninth graders find success is deeply personal. As a ninth-grade student herself, she was quiet and insecure, struggling to find her place in high school. The encouragement and outreach of a caring teacher opened the door to speech team, where she discovered confidence, belonging, and community. That experience shaped her belief in the transformative power of connection and continues to inform her work with schools today.
As an experienced teacher, coach, and staff developer, Anne believes that strong relationships are the foundation of transformational change in schools. She is passionate about partnering with educators to create equitable learning environments where every student feels seen, supported, and capable of success.
Anne lives in Portland with her husband and their precocious Goldendoodle, Steve. When they are not traveling the world, they enjoy spending time with their two adult sons and staying connected to the communities that have shaped their lives.
