Jennifer Troy, Chief Academic Officer, Aurora Public Schools, CO
Jennifer Troy is an optimistic, values-driven education leader who believes deeply in what is possible for students and communities. Throughout her career, she has worked to build equitable educational systems that ensure every student has access to an excellent education and unlimited opportunities to pursue their passions and dreams.
Jennifer currently serves as Chief Academic Officer for Aurora Public Schools, where she leads the district’s academic strategy and works alongside leaders, educators, students, families, and community partners to strengthen learning experiences and outcomes for students. Over more than 20 years in education, she has served as a teacher, assistant principal, founding principal, principal supervisor, regional superintendent, and district executive leader. Across these roles, she has remained committed to developing people, building strong teams and systems, and translating ambitious visions for students into meaningful results.
Dezzarae Medina, Graduate, Camelback High School, Phoenix Union High School District, AZ
Dezzarae is a proud graduate of Camelback High School in the Phoenix Union High School District, one of CHSS’s partner and Demonstration Schools. Her connection to CHSS began during her senior year, when she served as Link Crew President and led the program that welcomes and supports every incoming freshman.
Beyond Link Crew, Dezzarae served in Student Government and the Black History Club, captained the varsity volleyball team for two consecutive years, challenged herself through AP and Honors coursework, and graduated cum laude.
Her experience offers a powerful student perspective on leadership, belonging, and what it means to build a school community where students can succeed.
